A Message From LP

First of all, thank you for all of your support. I feel that saying thank you can’t
even begin to express the way I feel about the outpouring of help I see
coming in to assist us. And yet there is still much I don’t see.

I could have continued working in Haiti and would’ve been happy even though no one knew I was there.

Of course I’d be really happy to not have had this disappointing chain of events even take place.

It saddens me that MMRC’s mission has been put on the back burner during this time,
knowing our team is not out there concentrating on saving lives and that lives are
lost rather than saved. The kids that we aid in the orphanages must feel abandoned.

To see our team hurt at the sight and thought of one of us in such a predicament
hurts me to the core. We all know this should never have happened and it makes it harder to bear.

I fear this will stop many aid workers from coming to Haiti. Please don’t
punish the Haitian people. They are a great people and are in desperate need for help and they truly deserve it.

We, as a first world nation, have the ability to give them the aid and the means to
evolve into a thriving and developing country.  Haiti is a “diamond in the rough.”
We possess the power and have the heart among our people to see this country
through a very tough time.

We owe it to our neighbors to see this through all the way. We will one day
look at Haiti as a first world country. One day we’ll all look back and be proud we
were a part of an amazing time and event in history.

I am so happy to know so many Haitians as my brothers and sisters. I will
never be able to leave Haiti with more than it has given me. My life has
forever been changed for the better.

No American I know could live every day in the conditions the Haitians do and
still wear a smile each waking day. Yet the Haitians do it every day.  If they allow
me, I will stay until I am no longer needed. I love Haiti and the Haitian people. I
pray one day that they will be blessed with the life every human on earth deserves.

Paul- This statement says volumes about the person you are. If I could sum it up in one word… Selfless. Thank you for being an inspiration to all aid workers, the people in Haiti and across the world. Happy New Year friend.
    Love, sara

First and foremost, I would like to thank the almighty for protecting LP throughout all the days that he have spent in the Pen., I’m happy while I’m sad. I’m happy that LP is being release but I’m sad because he probably will have to leave Haiti. It’s sad to see people with good heart and intention for the country had to go through such a tragedy and experience. LP I want you to know that you’re a brother to me and an advocate for the orphans. We love you and misses you very much.

I’m sitting here making my mind work, trying to figure out if you will leave Haiti for real. I really feel like an abandon kid, like a kid that he’s Mom and Dad is getting ready to be taken away from him and let him stay alone in a lonely world. The kids always asking for you and when will they see you again.

LP please know that you have lots of friends, little brothers and sisters in Haiti and you’re welcome to our House any time.
    God less you LP

Of course I have so much to say. The tears are running down my face thinking about your words, your strength, your mission and who you are as a man. To give up your life for others is unbelievable to me. You could be living in the comforts of the US, clean water, toilets, comfort but you choose to give your life for others. WOW!!

I am so thankful you are free. WE prayed for you around the clock. You are an amazing person Paul Waggoner, and I am honored to know you. Yes peaceloveHaiti, will continue to make a mark in Haiti. AS for me, I found my mission field in my life and it is Haiti!

Most of the people that I know in the states could not make it through 2 days in the life of a Haitian. The Haitian people are the strongest, kindest, most beautiful human beings I know, and Paul, you fit right in! I am thankful to GOD he created you!! and BP TOO.

Continue to fight the fight! We will joining you soon! Blessings to you and thank you for all you do!

HERE HERE PAUL Very well said. I have always seen your heart but it is now shining in a new way, in literary form. Your words give me chills as when I listen to Martin Luther King. Talk to us Brother. Preach it. Shine on!

I don’t know you LP but I did spend 7 days at the Adventist Hopital in Porta Prince and I totally agree we American’s could not live one day like the Haitians do and smile that we are alive. Most of us would just give up on life. You are a amazing person for the work you are doing in Haiti. And I am extremly proud of you and grateful that the Haitian Government released you so that you could return to your work helping them. Stay stong and I am happy that this event has not changed who you are. I hope to return to Haiti someday as I feel we American’s should help those who have nothing, we are so blessed and if people could just spend a short time in a Country that is in dispair, they to would be forever changed. I know that I have been forever changed by my short time in Haiti.
God Bless to you and your partner BP

Your message speaks volumes as to the kind of person you are….You are such an inspiration….i’m sure you don’t remember me but I am one of your cousins from “ole pa’s” side of the family. I just wanted you to know that you have many “Waggoner” relatives across the US who love and support you even tho we may not know you and we did everything we knew how to let others know about your situation. I am so thankful that you are with people you love and are safe tonight. The work you and BP do is amazing….keep it up. There aren’t many people like you in this world and I am proud to be related to you!!!!
    Keeping you in my thoughts,
    Sara

    Paul
we met in the very early days. Thank you for continuing the fight through such an incredible, soul defying experience. And don’t worry, for your heart and spirit supports us all in our struggle to aid Haiti. If anything it makes me more determined to continue to return as often as I can and you are my role model. Just bringing a ventilator last time was so overwhelming…I am grateful for you and everything you do.
    See you in January!

    Love and peace
